Fish Prints

We could chose a fish.  I chose a flounder fish.
We painted the fish with paint.  Then we massaged the fish and the paper. When it was painted with yellow and blue and green I lifted the paper and I saw a reflection. Jaz
Our fish print.
First the whole class chose their fish, then we painted the fish.  The class carefully covered the fish with paper then we massaged the paper. It was fun.  I put the fish print on the piece of paper.  Then I did the big reveal.  I lifted the paper and the print was on the other side. I liked my flounder. I hope we do it again.

The Boiler Room

The boiler room is underground, it is dark and it has spiderwebs everywhere. But it hasn't been used for a long time. We don't use it any more because we have a heatpump to keep the rooms warm.

Beach Day at Rabbit Island

What a great day we all had.......no wind, flat sea, low tide and terrific kids!

Pattison Swim School

Mel and Katie from Pattison Swim School are at Auckland Point School for 2 weeks, giving us swimming lessons. We all got a free bathing cap, so they can identify us in the water. Emma, Samuel and Ashley and Amber have worked really hard to reach their goals.
The water is getting chillier but we have all learnt a lot so far. They finish up next week.

Purple Cup Cake Day

Wednesday was Purple Cup Cake Day at APS. We all wore purple and donated money towards helping the children in Nepal. We looked at pictures of Nepal and found it on the World Map.
Grandma Belle brought along heaps of lovely decorations to put on our cupcakes. Many of our mums and dads made the cupcakes for us to decorate.
The cakes looked delicious on their trays waiting for lunchtime.

Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?

Not St Vincent Room!!!!!!
We received an invitation to a fish and chip lunch at Haven Road Fish and Chip Shop, after writing a letter to Mr MacDonald, the owner. He rescued a red billed seagull with a hook in it's beak. The letter was spotted in the shop and The Leader who published the original story, asked for a follow up photo. Mr MacDonald suggested we come on Monday for lunch and Jonathan from The Leader joined the children and our parent/grandparent helpers for fish, sausages, mussels and and chips on the wharf. The seagulls joined us too!

Zebra Crossing

This week we all crossed the Zebra Crossing after school and before school. We want the cars and trucks to look out for us kids when we are crossing the road.
Sophie and me got to wear the Zebra suits. Lots of kids got to wave the Zebra cards and some kids got to wear the special t-shirts or a school t-shirt.
Cody's mum brought a wee pony to walk with us. She was wearing a zebra suit too. By Marlin
